Family Spa Day At-Home

Summer 2020 has been like none other for many parents. We’ve seen homes turned into full-on play zones to accommodate the stay-at-home orders, closures of summer camps and daycare centers. Pinterest boards are filled with activities to keep kids distracted during the day, and activity fatigue may be kicking in.

Activity fatigue is something both you and your child can experience during the quarantine. It may be time to consider a family effort to reset with a spa weekend.

This doesn’t replace an actual spa treatment, but it’s a meaningful way to spend time with your family and even an educational moment to show kids, from toddlers to teens, how to care for their skin. It allows them to practice with safe and natural skincare products under an adult’s supervision. Starting early with a solid routine will also help them navigate changes in their skin as they get older.

Grow Families has a three-step guide to; A Family Spa Day At-Home.

1.    Cleanse: Two exceptional formulas that work well for kids’ skin are the Stone Crop Gel Wash and Coconut Milk Cleanser.

2.    Mask: This is a step that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy. You’ll want to make sure that any mask you provide doesn’t contain highly active ingredients and is safe for kids’ skin.

Coconut Cream Masque is great for kids with sensitive skin and the yummy Chocolate Mousse Hydration Masque can work for all types.

3.    Moisturize: The final important step in any spa day is moisturization! This is another great opportunity to teach kids about proper moisturizing to keep skin healthy and strong. The Stone Crop Whip Moisturizer, which helps soothe dryness while deeply moisturizing, is perfect to close out a spa treatment.

Don't forget about using a broad-spectrum 100% mineral sunscreen that reflects the sun’s damaging UVA/UVB rays.
